Lending library

Our library has an extensive range of titles about donor conception. Subjects include general infertility, parenting and secrecy issues, as well as books written for children which parents can use to help explain their origins. The library is a free service for DCN members.

** Our library service is currently on hold. We hope to have it up and running again soon. We apologise for any inconvenience. **

We know that it can be really helpful to do lots of background reading before and during your donor conception journey. Members can borrow books from the library for one month, unless they are requested by another member.

How it works

You can borrow books by post or at our national conference in London each year. Whilst there is no charge to DC Network members in the UK for borrowing books and DVDs, we do ask you to pay for the cost of the return postage in order to cover our own costs. Please return books promptly to the address printed on the cover (these go to our library volunteer rather than to the DCN office).

We regret that we are only able to post to UK addresses as unfortunately the cost of postage outside the UK is prohibitive.

You must be a logged in member to order books and DVDs from the library. If you’re thinking about joining us, you can find more information on membership here. It’s easy to join and costs just £7 per month.

How to borrow

Once you are logged in you can click on the ‘Borrow this book’ button to order it from the library. Items are sent to you free of charge. You cover the cost of return postage and packing. People can borrow a maximum of 3 items at this time for a maximum of 4 weeks from date sent.

PLEASE NOTE: The books must be returned to the Librarian (at the address on cover of books) and NOT the DCN office please.

Books are posted once a week, so we recommend you order in plenty of time to allow for this.

For any library queries, please contact the librarian directly at Library.dcn@outlook.com.

The library is run by a volunteer who generously gives her time for free; we are very grateful to her for her support.
